O Chapim-real é uma das aves mais carismáticas e reconhecíveis de Portugal. Com o seu peito amarelo-vivo, cabeça preta e bochechas brancas imaculadas, é um visitante frequente de jardins e pomares. Nidifica com entusiasmo em caixas-ninho artesanais, tornando-se o protagonista perfeito desta observação ao vivo.
The Great Tit is one of Portugal's most charismatic and recognizable birds. With its vivid yellow breast, black head and immaculate white cheeks, it's a frequent visitor to gardens and orchards. It eagerly nests in handmade nest boxes, making it the perfect protagonist of this live observation.
Construída artesanalmente em madeira de pinho, com câmera IP integrada e visão noturna por infravermelhos. Instalada numa árvore, algures em Portugal.

Um projeto de família feito com muito amor. Nasceu no seguimento de uma ideia escolar — uma abordagem multidisciplinar que une a construção artesanal da caixa-ninho, a implementação tecnológica do streaming e o estudo do nosso primeiro habitante, o Chapim-real. É precisamente nessa descoberta que estamos focados agora.
A family project made with love. It grew from a school idea — a multidisciplinary approach bringing together the handcrafted construction of the nest box, the technological implementation of streaming, and the study of our first resident, the Great Tit. That discovery is precisely where our focus lies right now.

The female brings moss, grass and feathers to build the nest inside the box. A delicate and fascinating process.
A fêmea põe entre 6 a 11 ovos, um por dia. Os ovos são brancos com pequenas pintas avermelhadas.
The female lays 6 to 11 eggs, one per day. The eggs are white with small reddish spots.
A fêmea incuba os ovos durante cerca de 14 dias. O macho traz comida regularmente ao ninho.
The female incubates the eggs for about 14 days. The male regularly brings food to the nest.
O momento mais emocionante! As crias nascem cegas e sem penas, completamente dependentes dos pais.
The most emotional moment! Chicks hatch blind and featherless, completely dependent on their parents.
Após cerca de 3 semanas, as crias estão prontas para voar e deixam o ninho para sempre. Um adeus inesquecível.
After about 3 weeks, the chicks are ready to fly and leave the nest forever. An unforgettable farewell.
